How to Uninstall Norton AntiVirus

The Virus programs available are too numerous to list on this FAQ, so the only one that will be dealt with here is Norton Antivirus.  If you need to remove another AntiVirus program that is not listed here you should be able to visit the website for that program and get support there.  McAfee is also a very widely used AntiVirus program and support can be found at http://www.networkassociates.com/us/support/technical_support/.

To uninstall Norton AntiVirus by using the Control Panel

  • Windows 2000/XP
  1. Click Start > Settings > Control Panel.
  2. Click Add/Remove Programs.
  3. Click Norton AntiVirus in the list of currently installed programs, and then click Remove.
  4. Follow the on-screen prompts, and then click Yes or "Yes to all" as needed.

To uninstall Norton AntiVirus from the Program list

  1. Click Start > Programs > Norton AntiVirus, and then click Uninstall Norton AntiVirus.
  2. Follow the on-screen prompts, and then click Yes or "Yes to all" as needed.

For more information go to http://www.symantec.com/search/ then type in "How to uninstall Norton AV", then look at the search results and follow the instructions.
